Polina Zaitseva is originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia. She came to the U. S. in 1993, and resides in New York area, where she freelances as visual artist.
"My work evolves from the separation of the old, mythological world and the perception of contemporary view of our future. I have always found my ideas in between these two concepts. As we work towards building what is to come, we still return to our past: our ancestors, those generations who lead natural simple existences. As much as I observe and grow within a society with massive technological advances, I can't help but feel a sense of nostalgia toward the past.
I use mix media, in order to illustrate my state of constant shift between the future and the past."
